At the Children’s Development Academy, we believe that every child deserves access to high-quality early education and the joy of reading. Our non-profit organization serves 200+ children from our community, ranging in age from 1 to 5 years. Through our various literacy programs, we aim to instill a love for books and reading in our young learners and their families.
CDA Literacy Programs
Paper Hand Reading Campaign
This campaign is a year-round initiative where children record five books they read at home on a paper hand. By doing so, they earn the opportunity to choose a treasure from our treasure box every Friday.
Free Books for Families
We understand the importance of building a home library to further enhance children’s literacy skills. That’s why, as families depart the CDA, they have the opportunity to browse through our red basket filled with donated books or visit our outdoor Little Library.
Family Literacy Program
Our Pre-K program takes an extra step in promoting family literacy through our Family Literacy Program. Children are encouraged to borrow a storybook from our collection every Tuesday, which comes with activities designed to promote bonding with their family.
