These shifts are best for individual volunteers or a few friends who want to volunteer together.

Group Volunteers
These shifts are best for corporations, faith groups, civic groups, etc.
The CDA has been the beneficiary of many volunteers from corporations, businesses and other local organizations. These groups help us tackle big projects and make an immediate impact at the school. To find out how your group can get involved, please complete our Volunteer Request Form. After receiving the form, our CDA Volunteer Coordinator will contact you to match you up with the opportunities that best work for your group.
Organize a Drive
The CDA has four different drives to help offset expenses and provide the supplies our kids need for success in school and life. As the organizer, reach out to our Volunteer Coordinator Liz Caspermeyer at lcaspermeyer@cdakids.org or 770-992-4006 x220 to get a list of needed items and encourage your group to donate to the drive. Set up a collection site and deadline to accept donations. Once your collection is over, organize a drop-off time and bring your donation to the CDA.
Volunteer at a Special Event
Party on our Playground Event Set-up (Before)
Volunteers will be helping set up inside and outside the CDA. Includes setting up tables, chairs, auction items, and other event activities.
Saturday, October 3, 2026, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Party on our Playground Event Help (During)
Volunteers will help with our event and specifically the food stations. All volunteers will get a scheduled break to eat and enjoy the party!
Saturday, October 3, 2026, 5:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Party on our Playground Event Breakdown (After)
Volunteers will be helping us break down the event. Includes taking down and storing tables, chairs, and other event activities. There may be some heavy lifting involved.
Show Your Appreciation for Our Teachers
Teachers are the heart of the CDA and deserve much of the credit for student achievements. We could not accomplish our mission goals without them.

Teen Projects
At the CDA, we appreciate students who want to volunteer. It’s a great way to get volunteer hours while making a difference in the community!
Organize a Drive for the CDA
Choose from Back to School, Essentials, Santa Shop, or our Book Drive. As the organizer, you’ll receive a list of needed items and rally support from friends, neighbors, or groups. Set up a collection site and deadline, then bring the donations to the CDA.
Make Teacher Appreciation Kits
This is a fun project to do solo or with friends! Complete 35 matching gifts by creating a sign-up for needed items and sharing it. Once collected, host a party to pack the bags and add notes of encouragement.
